White Fillings
The type of filling material we use is white in colour and made of a plastic resin matrix containing very fine glass particles. It creates a natural appearance while being strong enough to withstand the strains of normal tooth functioning.
Root Canal Therapy
Root Canal Therapy is used to save a tooth that has a diseased nerve. Inside each tooth is pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth. The pulp runs like a thread down through the root of the tooth. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If it is not removed, your tooth will become infected and you then risk the loss of the tooth.
In Root Canal Therapy, the dentist removes the pulp, cleans the root canal(s) and seals it off to protect it. Then, in most cases, a crown is placed over the tooth to help strengthen it.
Most often root canal therapy is a relatively simple procedure involving little or no discomfort. It is normally completed in one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth.
Crowns
As mentioned above, crowns are often placed over a tooth that has been treated either with root canal therapy or a filling. The crown strengthens the tooth and greatly lessens the potential for future problems with the treated tooth. Crowns allow the creation of a tooth that is perfect in appearance.

- Some combination of the above

Implants
A dental implant is an artificial root made of titanium metal. It is surgically inserted into the jawbone to replace the root of the natural tooth. An artificial replacement tooth is then attached to the implant. The implant acts as an anchor to hold the replacement tooth in place.
In most circumstances we are able to both place and restore dental implants in our facility. In clinical situations where the surgery is more difficult, we will refer patients to a specialist to place the implant. Once that has healed, we will complete the procedure with the restoration, i.e. the replacement tooth.
When replacing several teeth or all of your teeth either a fixed bridge is anchored to your implants or a removable partial or full denture is made to snap into special attachments on the implants.
We are pleased to provide more comprehensive information at your request.

Bridges
When a patient loses one or more teeth, one method of replacing the missing teeth is by creating a bridge that attaches and runs from an adjacent healthy tooth over the absent tooth space to the next healthy tooth. A bridge is not a removable appliance … it is cemented in and functions well. It is important for patients with a bridge to be vigilant with flossing the site to keep the gum tissue healthy.
Sometimes where a patient has a number of missing teeth a bridge will run from one implant to either another implant or an adjacent healthy tooth in order to secure the bridge effectively.
Dentures
A denture is a dental appliance that replaces several missing teeth and is removed from the mouth for cleaning and at night. Most partial dentures use clasps which grasp some of the remaining natural teeth in order to be stable. Dentures can also be made to replace some or all teeth by snapping onto dental implants.
